These pillars are the cornerstones of our program and guide StriveCLT’s work. From our afterschool program to each part of our holistic model, we’re intentional about advancing social and economic mobility for the families we serve.

Thrive (verb) – to prosper or flourish; to reach a desired level of accomplishment; to get ahead.

Digital Literacy

  • Survey of residents needs for computer instruction and follow-up training

  • Beginner’s computer literacy classes for mature and senior adults

  • Free, all-virtual GED program with laptop provided for course takers

  • Online reading instruction during afterschool program

Financial Literacy

  • Workshops for Inlivian section 8 voucher applicants

  • Recruitment and enrollment of Inlivian residents in Common Wealth savings program

  • Interactive financial literacy games, instruction, and exposure for afterschool children

Civic & Community
Engagement

  • Village Gatherings on topics of interest for residents

  • Voter education and registration opportunities for residents of Southside Homes

  • Volunteer service opportunities

  • Support Back to School events

  • Family field trips to Charlotte destinations
